Focus on road projects, natural farming, and accelerated development

Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, June 27: Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting today at Bachat Bhawan, reviewing the progress of centrally sponsored development projects and issuing key directives to officials.
MLAs D.S. Thakur and Dr. Janak Raj were also present at the meeting. Dr. Bhardwaj praised the efforts of district administration and departmental officers, urging them to adopt a mission-mode approach to ensure timely completion of welfare and development works.
During the review of Public Works Department projects, Dr. Bhardwaj directed the preparation of DPRs for 56 road projects and emphasized coordinated efforts to accelerate developmental activities. Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow progress of the RDSS scheme aimed at strengthening the district’s power supply network, he reminded officials that ₹90 crore has been allocated for the project and instructed RVNL authorities to expedite pending works.
He also asked NHAI and PWD officials to take immediate steps to improve the condition of the Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur National Highway. In agriculture, Dr. Bhardwaj directed officers to promote natural farming by continuously motivating farmers and providing necessary technical guidance and support.
The meeting also reviewed progress under key schemes including Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, National Health Mission, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, MPLADS, Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal welcomed the MP and later presented the vote of thanks, assuring effective and time-bound implementation of the decisions taken.
The meeting was attended by non-official members Krishna Mahajan and Manoj Kumar, along with senior officers including SP Vijay Kumar Saklani, ADC Amit Mehra, Assistant Commissioner Manmohan Singh, SDM Vikas Sharma, SE Jeet Singh Thakur, CMO Dr. J.S. Bhardwaj, DFO Kritagya Kumar, and other departmental heads.
