The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has announced a major change for passengers availing concessions on bus travel. From now on, no passenger will receive any fare discount without a valid Him Bus Card.
For Students
Students from Classes 1 to 12 have been given time until May 31, 2026 to apply for their Him Bus Card. After this deadline, concessions will not be granted without the card.
For Women
Women who currently travel at 50% concession will also be required to carry the Him Bus Card to continue receiving discounted fares.
Old System Discontinued
The earlier Green Card and Yellow Card system has been scrapped. Going forward, only the Him Bus Card will be valid for all categories of concession.
Digital & Transparent
According to HRTC, this decision has been taken to make bus services more digital, transparent, and efficient.
Passengers are advised to apply for their Him Bus Card at the earliest to avoid paying full fare in future.
