Fresh spells of heavy snowfall have once again hit the tribal region of Bharmour in March, raising concerns of disruption to daily life. With annual school examinations underway and most schools open, authorities have stressed the need for extra caution, especially for students traveling from remote areas.

In upper regions such as Kugti, Badgram, Holi, and other high-altitude tribal villages, many students walk long distances to reach schools. During February and March, snowfall often increases the risk of avalanches and glacier slides in these areas.

Taking note of the situation, the Bharmour administration has issued an advisory for residents. Acting Additional District Magistrate Vikas Sharma urged people to exercise special caution during adverse weather conditions. He appealed to locals to avoid unnecessary travel to high-altitude areas and to stay away from riverbanks and streams, where avalanche risks remain high.

Sharma emphasized that safety must be the top priority under such weather conditions. He advised residents to remain indoors as far as possible and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration to prevent any untoward incidents.
