A vibrant cultural program titled “Umang” was organised today by the Central Students’ Organization at Government Arya College, Nurpur. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Thakur, who also graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of culture and tradition in shaping society.
The program opened with a soulful Saraswati Vandana, followed by a series of colorful performances including group dances, solo poetry recitations, and traditional Pahari folk dances. Students also presented thought-provoking performances on social issues through dance and poetry, showcasing their talent and creativity.
In his speech, Principal Dr. Thakur praised the students’ artistic abilities and highlighted the role of cultural activities in the holistic development of learners. He encouraged them to actively participate in co-curricular activities alongside academics.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Daljit Singh, Acharya of the college, who extended best wishes to the students. The ceremony ended with the National Anthem, with faculty members and students in full attendance.
