In a determined effort to curb illegal mining activities, Nurpur Police District launched a special 24-hour campaign under the direct leadership of the Superintendent of Police. Senior officers (SP/SDPOs) carried out extensive inspections and surprise checks in the Beas River region. Stone crushers operating in the area were thoroughly examined to ensure compliance with legal norms.

To tighten control over illegal mining, patrolling and surveillance have been intensified in sensitive zones including Khanni, Majra, Rey Pattan, Riali Mand, Indora Mand, and Bhograwan. In addition, trenches have been dug along connecting routes in the Rey Pattan–Rehatpur belt to effectively block unauthorized vehicle movement linked to illegal transportation.

It emphasized that strict enforcement will continue under a “Zero Tolerance Policy” against illegal mining. No violator will be spared, and stringent legal measures will be ensured against offenders.
