A tragic road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district claimed four lives on Saturday morning, while one person was left critically injured. The incident occurred in the Bhawanagar subdivision, triggering widespread grief across the region.
According to preliminary information, a car bearing registration number HP26B-8999, travelling from Tapri towards Jani, met with an accident on the Jani link road. The vehicle reportedly went out of control and crashed under circumstances that are yet to be confirmed.
There were five occupants in the car at the time of the accident. Four passengers died on the spot, while one young man sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Local residents were the first to reach the site and began rescue efforts before informing the police.
Officials said all the passengers were residents of Jani village under Ramni post office in Nichar tehsil.
The deceased have been identified as:
• Himesh Kumar (19), son of Naresh Kumar
• Krishna (42), wife of Naresh Kumar
• Sushma (47), wife of Roshan Lal
• Inder Lal (30), son of Hari Lal
The injured has been identified as:
• Vidya Krishan (32), son of Hari Lal, resident of Jani village, Nichar
A police team reached the spot soon after receiving the information. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The district administration has expressed condolences to the bereaved families. The incident has left the local community in deep shock and mourning.
