Himachal news: Mother-son duo killed in Kullu accident, were on way to temple in new car


Mandi: Two residents of Bhuntar in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh *died in a road accident near Bagda Thach in the Seraj region on Monday.
The victims, identified as Gaurav and his mother Meera Devi, were travelling to Dehuri’s Khudizhal Temple when their car veered off the road and fell into a 100-meter-deep gorge.


According to officials, the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle near a sharp curve. Gaurav died on the spot while his mother succumbed to her injuries shortly after being rescued from the wreckage.


A third occupant of the car sustained minor injuries and is reported to be in a stable condition.
Local panchayat deputy head Rohit Thakur confirmed the identities of the deceased. “The family had recently purchased the car and was on a temple visit,” he said.


Station House Officer Ram Krishna Thakur stated that a police team was dispatched immediately after receiving the report. “Preliminary findings indicate driver error. Further investigation is underway,” he added.
