Kangra
A PRAANA Mobile Charger and Solar Lamp Distribution Program was held in the Changar Landscape, Khundian block of Kangra district, under the HUM–SSRDP x PRAANA initiative, implemented with the support of the Art of Living. The program aimed to provide disaster-affected and energy-deprived rural households with clean and sustainable energy solutions.

As part of the initiative, 90 PRAANA solar-powered mobile chargers and solar lamps were distributed to vulnerable families. Organizers said the effort would help reduce daily drudgery, improve household safety, and ensure mobile connectivity during power outages and emergencies.

Community-Led Effort

The program was spearheaded by the Himalay Unnati Mission – Sri Sri Rural Development Programme (HUM–SSRDP), with active involvement from its partner organization, the Society for Environmental and Rural Awakening (ERA), and support from PRAANA. Local representatives, volunteers, and a dedicated field team—including Mr. Pradeep Sharma (Director, ERA), Mr. Satish Kumar, Mr. Balram Garg, and Mr. Munish Kumar—played a key role in the successful implementation.

Voices from the Program

Speaking at the event, Mr. Amit Mehta, Program Director, Himalay Unnati Mission, said:

“Under the guidance and vision of the Art of Living, HUM–SSRDP, along with its partners like ERA, continues to strengthen community resilience in the Himalayan region through sustainable and people-centric solutions.”

Beneficiary families expressed gratitude, noting that the solar lamps and mobile chargers would significantly improve safety, communication, and overall quality of life in their households.

Commitment to Resilience

Organizers emphasized that the program reflects the collective commitment of the Art of Living, HUM–SSRDP, ERA, and PRAANA towards sustainable development, disaster resilience, and inclusive growth in the Himalayan region.
