A meeting of Sanjeevani – A Group of NGOs was held today in Shimla under the chairmanship of Mahendra Dharmani. The gathering focused on reviewing the anti-drug awareness efforts—particularly against chitta (synthetic drugs)—carried out by member NGOs over the past month.

Representatives from affiliated organizations presented detailed reports of their outreach activities, which included engaging local panchayats, schools, colleges, students, and various social and religious institutions. The aim was to mobilize community support and raise awareness about the devastating impact of drug abuse.

During the meeting, NGO leaders and members from across Himachal Pradesh shared their field experiences and submitted proposals for further action. A unanimous decision was taken to organize a state-level workshop in December dedicated to combating chitta. All Sanjeevani-affiliated and partner NGOs will be invited to participate.

The workshop will feature expert-led sessions and will involve collaboration with other organizations working on drug prevention across the state. It will also include training modules for respected community members, doctors, lawyers, and students who are actively contributing to the anti-drug movement.

Key attendees included General Secretary Naresh Sharma, Tikku Thakur, Ratan Thakur, Nitin Vyas, Joginder Saklani, Suraj Jamalta, Pradeep Thakur, Sandeep Okta, Captain Atul, and advisor Joginder Kanwar.
