₹554 Crore DPR for Rural Roads Under PMGSY-4 Approval in process , will be cleared soon

— Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj chaired a meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at Bachat Bhawan today, reviewing the progress of various centrally sponsored development schemes in the district.

During the meeting, Dr. Bhardwaj announced that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth ₹554 crore has been submitted to the ministry under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)–Phase 4, aimed at connecting 65 remote habitations with road infrastructure. He assured that the approval process is underway and will be expedited.

The MP appreciated the coordinated efforts of the district administration and departmental heads in implementing development projects. He also reaffirmed the central government’s commitment to providing full support for the successful execution of schemes under the Aspirational District Programme.

MLAs Neeraj Nayyar, Dr. Janak Raj, and D.S. Thakur were present and raised key regional demands:

  • Neeraj Nayyar urged the opening of a passport office in Chamba, amendments to the Forest Rights Act to facilitate land allocation for disaster-affected families, and early release of a special relief package from the Centre.
  • Dr. Janak Raj emphasized strengthening electricity supply in remote tribal villages.
  • D.S. Thakur called for improved road connectivity and power infrastructure in rural areas of the Dalhousie Assembly segment.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of major schemes including:

  • Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College
  • PMGSY and National Highway 154A
  • RDSS scheme by the Electricity Board
  • Jal Jeevan Mission
  • National Health Mission
  • Samagra Shiksha
  • National Social Assistance Programme
  • Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana
  • PM Awas Yojana (Rural and Urban)
  • MGNREGA

Officials from various departments presented detailed updates on implementation status and outcomes.

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal welcomed Dr. Bhardwaj at the meeting. Other attendees included non-official members Krishna Mahajan and Manoj Kumar, SP Abhishek Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioners Amit Mahera (Chamba) and Kulbir Singh Rana (Bharmaur), SDMs Priyanshu Khati (Chamba) and Paras Agrawal (Bhattiyat), SE Rakesh Mongra (Jal Shakti), Divakar Pathania (PWD), and Rajeev Thakur (Electricity Board), among others.
