Dalhousie Public School Hosts Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse

As part of the nationwide observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dalhousie Public School organized an awareness programme on June 25, 2026. The event was conducted by the Office of the Chairman, Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee (SDLSC), Dalhousie, District Chamba, with the aim of educating students about the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The programme was addressed by Mr. Kapil Sambyal, SHO, Dalhousie Police Station, along with distinguished members of the legal fraternity from Civil Court Dalhousie — Mr. Mohit, Mr. Avinash Thakur, Mr. Arif Khan, and Mr. Rajeev Tandon.

Speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse on physical and mental health, its damaging impact on families and society, and the legal consequences of possessing or trafficking narcotics. They urged students to remain vigilant against negative influences, make responsible choices, and contribute towards building a drug-free society.

The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students, who engaged with the speakers through questions and discussions. The programme served as an important platform to spread awareness and reinforce the message of prevention, responsibility, and healthy living among the youth.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests and resource persons for their valuable guidance and commitment to student welfare and societal well-being.
