In a significant boost to educational infrastructure, Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Rohit Thakur and Hon’ble MLA of Palampur Shri Ashish Butail laid the foundation stones for a Girls’ Hostel and a Boxing Ring at Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Government College, Palampur. The dignitaries also inaugurated the newly developed Sports Ground and Zoology Laboratory.
The program commenced with a traditional Saraswati Vandana. Acting Principal Professor Kalpana Rishi welcomed the guests and presented a comprehensive report highlighting the college’s achievements while also drawing attention to its pressing needs.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Shri Ashish Butail expressed satisfaction that all the proposals he had submitted to the Education Minister for Palampur have been approved. In his keynote speech, Education Minister Shri Rohit Thakur emphasized the importance of integrating quality education with robust sports infrastructure and hands-on learning. He reiterated the government’s commitment to equipping every educational institution in Himachal Pradesh with modern facilities to foster holistic student development.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ajay Thakur. Faculty members, administrative staff, and other stakeholders from the college were present to witness the occasion.
