MANDI: BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Friday expressed deep concern over the continuous disruptions in Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session, stating that the environment inside the House had become so chaotic that it is now difficult to remain seated.
Speaking to the media, Kangana Ranaut said, “There is an attempt to promote hooliganism. If anyone speaks against the country, the Congress is the first to support them. The condition of Parliament has deteriorated to such an extent that it is becoming increasingly difficult to sit inside. The opposition’s sloganeering continues relentlessly.”
This remark comes amid ongoing protests and disruptions by opposition parties in both Houses of Parliament. The monsoon session entered its tenth day today and proceedings have been repeatedly adjourned due to uproar from the opposition benches. A similar situation was witnessed on Thursday when frequent adjournments were necessary to restore order.
Kangana raises Mandi floods in Lok Sabha
Earlier on Wednesday, Kangana Ranaut raised the issue of devastating floods in her parliamentary constituency Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) during zero hour in the Lok Sabha. Highlighting the severe damage caused by cloudbursts and torrential rains, she said, “We are all watching on television the scale of destruction in Mandi. Cloudbursts are occurring frequently and there has been massive loss of life and property. Several villages and bridges have been washed away.”
The MP questioned the state government’s handling of the crisis and demanded clarity on the central government’s financial support. “The Centre is providing relief funds worth thousands of crores, but we want to know how much of it has been received and when, because the state government is not properly acknowledging the assistance. There is a lack of transparency in how rehabilitation work is being carried out,” she said.
The monsoon session of Parliament is expected to continue witnessing turbulence as opposition parties step up pressure on various national issues. Meanwhile, the situation in flood-hit areas of Himachal Pradesh remains grim, with ongoing calls for more effective rehabilitation measures.
