On Monday, representatives of the Chaurasi Vyapar Mandal Bharmour met Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Kulbir Singh Rana to highlight infrastructural and civic concerns that could disrupt the upcoming Shri Manimahesh Yatra. The delegation submitted a formal memorandum urging swift action on key issues to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for pilgrims.
The trade body expressed concerns about several shortcomings, including the slow progress of tarring work on NH 154A, broken reflector mirrors at blind curves near the old bus stand, and the lack of road safety mirrors on sharp turns around Gorpatta, Pati Gas Gudi Mata Temple, and the Bharmani Secretariat route. These issues were flagged as potential safety hazards during the pilgrimage.
Responding promptly, ADM Rana contacted officials on-site, instructing them to expedite repairs and installations before the pilgrimage begins. Additional demands included fixing non-functional street lights between Pati and Dandwa, repairing damaged public toilets, and installing coolers at the Pati bus stand to improve amenities for travelers.
The delegation also recommended improving local traffic management and requested that temporary shopkeepers submit affidavits to prevent reputational harm to permanent vendors during the event. Another urgent appeal was to activate the high mast lights at the Pati bus stand by August 1.
Trade union leaders present included President Ranjit Sharma, General Secretary Mahendra Patial, and Zonal In-Charge Abhilash Patial. Their proactive engagement reflects the community’s commitment to facilitating a smoother pilgrimage while upholding local welfare and safety standards.
