Kangra’s Dipika Kapoor wins 3 titles at Mrs India Planet beauty pageant, brings laurels to Himachal

MANDI: Dipika Kapoor from Kangra in Himachal Pradesh has achieved an impressive feat by securing three prestigious titles in the fourth season of the “Gleamdiva Mrs India Planet” beauty pageant.
Held at the Hyatt Regency in Gurugram, the event witnessed Dipika winning the titles of “Mrs Himachal Pradesh”, “Mrs India Planet Second Runner-Up”, and “Mrs Talented”. This significant accomplishment highlights her talent and dedication, bringing pride to Himachal Pradesh on the national stage.
Major General Vikram Dogra, a three-time Iron Man of the Indian Army, Sword of Honour recipient and Presidential Gold Medallist, attended the pageant as the guest of honour and a jury member. The competition encouraged women from diverse backgrounds to participate and pursue their dreams, irrespective of age, height or weight.
Data scientist’s path to pageant glory
Professionally, Dipika Kapoor works as a data scientist in an IT company in Noida and holds an MBA from Agra University. Despite being a first-time participant, she displayed remarkable confidence and strength. Dipika attributes her success to the unwavering support of her husband and family, who encouraged her to compete.
Reflecting on her journey, Dipika shared her vision of inspiring other married and young women with aspirations in the fashion industry. “I hope to encourage others to step out of their comfort zones and realise their potential,” she said. In recognition of her efforts, she has been appointed the Gleamdiva director for Himachal Pradesh, overseeing auditions for future pageants.
