Mandi Hockey Association celebrates Anurag Thakur’s birthday by gifting tracksuits to players

MANDI: The Mandi District Hockey Association marked the birthday of former Union Minister and current Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur with a heartfelt celebration alongside local players. The occasion saw the distribution of tracksuits to 40 athletes, aimed at enhancing their training experience.
Raja Singh Malhotra, president of the Mandi District Hockey Association, emphasised Anurag Thakur’s unwavering commitment to promoting sports and supporting athletes. “Anurag Thakur has always worked diligently for the upliftment of sports,” Malhotra stated. “In recognition of his contributions, we decided to celebrate his birthday with the players and provide them with some much-needed equipment.”

The players expressed their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture, acknowledging the significance of the new tracksuits. Sonia, captain of the Mandi District Hockey Team, shared, “Many players previously did not have tracksuits, but now we can benefit from them during our practice sessions.”
Coaches Naresh Kumar and Kamal Kishore also extended their appreciation to Raja Singh Malhotra for the generous gifts and conveyed their best wishes to Anurag Thakur on his special day.
