These appointments are aimed at ensuring that students receive quality education, even in the most remote areas.

Training to start within a week

The newly appointed JBT teachers are expected to complete all formalities and join their respective schools within a week. Current scenario in Mandi’s primary schools

Currently, Mandi district has 1,661 primary schools spread across 25 educational blocks. Of these, 700 schools have only one teacher and 75 schools are running without any teachers. The shortage has significantly affected the quality of education, especially in remote and rural areas. The new appointments aim to address this gap by ensuring that every school has at least one teacher.

2 teachers in schools with more than 20 students

Vijay Kumar, Deputy Director of Elementary Education in Mandi, stated that with these new appointments, all schools will have a minimum of one teacher. In addition, primary schools with more than 20 students will now have two teachers. The move is expected to improve the student-teacher ratio, thereby enhancing the quality of education in the district.
