MANDI: Hemant Kumar has resumed his duties as the District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) of Mandi district, effective August 1, 2024, marking a notable return to the position he previously held.
Kumar’s illustrious career with the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) department began on March 31, 2015, when he joined as an Information Officer at the department’s headquarters in Shimla.
His career trajectory saw him making significant contributions in various capacities. He served as the DPRO in Mandi from August 3, 2015, to February 25, 2019, before taking on the role of the DPRO in Hamirpur from February 26, 2019, to July 13, 2021.
Following this, Kumar was reinstated at the Shimla headquarters as an Information Officer until March 12, 2024, after which he took on the role of the DPRO in Solan from March 13, 2024, to July 31, 2024.
Hailing from Dharyana village near Mandi, Kumar’s deep-rooted connection to the region and his extensive experience in the department have been pivotal in his career.
His return to Mandi comes as a well-regarded transition, succeeding Meena Bedi, who has been transferred to Bilaspur to take on the DPRO role there. Kumar’s return is anticipated to bring continued excellence and dedication to the Mandi district’s public relations efforts.
