Himachal CM Sukhu won’t return to Shimla today, a new obstacle delays his plans to celebrate Diwali at his home

The Newz Radar SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu won’t be able to return to Shimla on Friday (November 10, 2023), highly placed sources in the government have said. The sources cited inclement weather as the reason as a helicopter flight would not be possible due to bad weather in New Delhi as well as Himachal. The Chief Minister may now return to Shimla on Saturday morning on the eve of Diwali, but that too if the weather conditions permit the flight to operate, the sources said. The Chief Minister, who was admitted to AIIMS-Delhi for the treatment of pancreatitis, was to be discharged from the hospital on Friday. He was to fly to Shimla and celebrate Diwali on November at his official residence. “Chief Minister Sukhu will be coming to Shimla tomorrow after being discharged from AIIMS. He will come from Delhi in a helicopter and will reach Shimla at 3 pm. The Chief Minister’s health is now better than before. All his tests are normal and at present he is handling important work from AIIMS. According to doctors, he is fine now and has been advised to take rest,” sources close to the CM had said. CM Sukhu had suddenly fallen ill on October 25. Due to an infection in the pancreas, he was first taken to IGMC where after undergoing treatment for a day, he was referred to AIIMS-Delhi. He has been admitted to AIIMS for the past two weeks. He was first kept in the ICU at AIIMS-Delhi and after improvement in his health, he was shifted to a private VVIP ward from where the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions to ministers and officials regarding government work. Principal media adviser to the Chief Minister, Naresh Chauhan, had on Thursday confirmed that CM Sukhu would come to Shimla on Friday after being discharged from AIIMS. “After coming to Shimla, he will start his work as per the guidelines of the doctors,” Chauhan had said.
