Himachal Pradesh Minister Vikramaditya Singh met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan in Shimla on Sunday (August 18, 2024) to provide a detailed account of the extensive damage caused across various regions of the state and the ongoing reconstruction efforts by the Public Works Department.
Vikramaditya said that the Public Works Department has estimated losses amounting to approximately Rs 500 crore due to the recent disaster. He emphasised the urgency of the situation and appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to extend full support to the state in its recovery efforts.
“Our primary goal is to make Himachal Pradesh a strong and prosperous state,” the minister said. “We are committed to working closely with the Central Government to ensure that no obstacles hinder the development of Himachal Pradesh. We are dedicated to building the best Himachal.”
He highlighted that the reconstruction work is not only focused on restoring what was lost but also on strengthening the state’s development further. With the Central Government’s cooperation, Vikramaditya expressed confidence in successfully completing this mission and elevating Himachal Pradesh to new heights.
