Himachal team bags top 2 medals in women’s ski race at Khelo India Winter Games in Gulmarg

DHARAMSHALA: The Himachal Pradesh team delivered a stellar performance on the second day of the Khelo India Winter Games in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg, securing gold and silver medals in the fiercely contested women’s ski mountaineering vertical race.


Tenzin Dolma claimed the gold medal while Natasha Mehar secured the silver, further establishing Himachal Pradesh as a dominant force in the competition. With this victory, the team’s total medal count reached four by the end of day two.


Expressing his pride, Rajesh Rana, the coach of Himachal Pradesh team, lauded the dedication and relentless training of his athletes. “The team has worked extremely hard and their efforts have borne fruit. I am immensely proud of their achievement,” he said.


Kavita Thakur, District Sports Officer of Kullu, who is accompanying the team, was present at the venue, offering unwavering support to the athletes. Her presence reaffirmed the commitment of Himachal Pradesh’s sports authorities to nurturing winter sports talent.


The Khelo India Winter Games continue to showcase the potential of winter sports in India, with young athletes making their mark on the national stage.
