In a powerful stand against the rising menace of synthetic drugs (Chitta), the doctors of Kangra district have taken their mission from the consultation room to the cricket pitch.
On Saturday, the HMOA Kangra XI made a spirited debut in Pool D of the Dhauladhar Cricket Cup, joining a tournament specifically organized to drive awareness against drug abuse.
Leading by Example
Under the leadership of Dr. Udai Singh, the HMOA Kangra XI displayed impressive prowess with both bat and ball at the ITI Shahpur ground.

However, the scoreboards were secondary to the message being delivered. The medical professionals used the platform to engage with local youth, emphasizing the physical and mental toll of addiction.
A Prescription for Sports
Speaking at the event, Dr. Udai Singh lauded the Dhauladhar Cricket Cup as a “stellar initiative” in the fight against narcotics.
“Events like these are essential to keep our youth engaged and healthy. By choosing the pitch over drugs, we are showing the younger generation that there is a more fulfilling way to live,” said Dr. Singh.
A Unified Resolve
The tournament served as more than just a game; it was a formal pledge. Standing on the pitch, the participating doctors collectively vowed to work toward a “Chitta-free” Himachal Pradesh, encouraging the youth to channel their energy into sports and community building.
