Women’s Day: Himachal CM felicitates achievers, self-help groups at state-level function in Shahpur’s Chambi


Shahpur: A state-level function to honour women achievers was held at Chambi ground in Shahpur in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday (March 8, 2025) to mark International Women’s Day.


Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu attended the event as the chief guest. During the programme, women achievers and self-help groups (SHGs) were felicitated for their exemplary contributions.


In addition to the felicitation, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹40 crore. One of the key initiatives was the foundation laying of Maharana Pratap Bhavan at Durgehla.


Among the other projects, CM Sukhu also inaugurated road infrastructure works, including the ₹11 crore Laleta-Banu Mahadev-Dhanotu link road, ₹4.41 crore Dhanotu via Bad Basti road, ₹19.86 crore Banala-Rulehad road upgradation and ₹5.47 crore Ridkmar-Kuthrana link road.


Before attending the ceremony, CM Sukhu was received at Kangra’s Gaggal Airport by Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Raghubir Bali, MLAs Ashish Butail and Kewal Singh Pathania, Transport Corporation vice-chairman Ajay Verma, former MLA Surendra Kaku, Dr Rajesh Sharma and Nageshwar Mankotia.
