Residents of Ichhi–Gangbhairo under the Kangra Assembly constituency have strongly criticized the Public Works Department (PWD) for neglecting the deteriorated road. Locals allege that the department only dumps soil as a temporary measure, which turns into mud during the monsoon, making the road impassable.

Community members including Vikas Lihan, Kabish Mongra, Kapil Mongra, Joginder Singh, Kamal Kapoor, Naveen Mongra, and Keshav Mongra stated that despite repeated complaints to the PWD office, no permanent repair has been carried out.

Vikas Lihan said, “During the rains, children cannot reach school and the elderly are unable to step out of their homes.” Kabish Mongra added, “The condition of the road from Ichhi to Gangbhairo is so bad that even ambulances refuse to come. Patients have to be carried on shoulders.”

The villagers have demanded that the government and PWD stop the superficial patchwork and undertake permanent repair and concrete construction of the road to ensure safe and reliable connectivity.
