District Magistrate Mukesh Repswal has issued an official order restricting vehicular movement on the Pakkatala–Balu link road in Chamba district.
According to the order, the road near the Government Middle School has been damaged, posing a potential risk to public safety. In view of this, the movement of all types of vehicles on the route has been temporarily prohibited in the interest of public safety.
The order has been issued under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. It further clarifies that vehicular operations will resume only after the Public Works Department (PWD) completes the necessary repair and restoration work and officially declares the road safe for traffic.
The Superintendent of Police and other concerned officials have been directed to ensure proper traffic control, barricading, and strict compliance with the order.
This temporary restriction aims to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of residents and commuters until the damaged section of the road is fully restored.
