For the second consecutive day, members of the Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association (HPUTWA) boycotted classes and staged a strong protest outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The demonstration was held under the banner of the university’s joint front, with participation from various non-teaching staff unions.

Employee leaders collectively condemned the discriminatory treatment by the state government regarding grants to universities. They alleged that the government has shown complete neglect towards higher education, leaving universities across the state in a deteriorating condition.

Protesters highlighted that while employees in other sectors are receiving timely salaries, university staff are being deliberately excluded. Teachers refrained from conducting any classes today, reiterating that until a concrete resolution is reached, every university employee will continue this decisive struggle.

The protest was coordinated and released by Dr. Nitin Vyas.
