Preparations for the upcoming state-level Janmashtami Festival, scheduled to be held in Nurpur on September 4–5, were reviewed today in a meeting chaired by SDM Arun Sharma. Officials from various departments attended the session to ensure smooth arrangements for the grand celebration.
The SDM directed the Municipal Council to maintain proper cleanliness at the venue, while the Jal Shakti Department was instructed to ensure drinking water supply and install temporary taps. The Electricity Board was asked to provide uninterrupted power during the festival. He emphasized that responsibilities have been assigned to all departments, and another meeting will be held soon for a final review.
To facilitate parking for devotees, a special parking area will be arranged near the Savings Building. The SDM also informed that artists for the cultural evenings on September 4 and 5 will be selected shortly. For effective monitoring and coordination, Tehsildar Radhika Saini has been appointed as the festival officer.
Calling for inter-departmental cooperation, the SDM urged all officials to work in harmony so that the Janmashtami Festival can be celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm, and proper management.
The meeting was attended by Forest Development Corporation Director Yogesh Mahajan, Tehsildar Radhika Saini, Tehsildar (Probation) Swati Walia, BDO Ashok Kumar, PWD SDO Umindr Singh, Municipal Council SDO Rajesh Chaudhary, Electricity SDO Puneet Kumar, Municipal Council Chairperson Niti Mahajan, Vice-Chairperson Sonia Soga, Temple Committee President Davinder Sharma, Medical Officer Dr. Maulshri, Mining Officer Suresh Kumar, along with other departmental officials.
