A special state-level campaign (Phase-II, Part-1) was carried out today across all areas of Police District Nurpur to conduct intensive inspections of courier service providers, warehouses, and parcel delivery networks.
The primary objective of the drive was to prevent the possible misuse of courier and parcel services for drug trafficking and to ensure strict compliance with security regulations.
Key Highlights of the Campaign:
- Local police teams, CIA, and the Special Task Force (STF) inspected courier offices, hubs, and warehouses.
- In areas without warehouses, delivery staff were checked on-field, including their parcels and bags.
- Booking registers, consignment records, storage areas, CCTV functionality, logbooks, security certificates, and customer KYC documents were thoroughly verified.
- Courier managers and staff were sensitized and instructed to maintain transparent records and immediately report any suspicious parcels or activities to the police.
Outcome: No suspicious items were recovered during the day-long checking drive. All courier centers, warehouses, and delivery parcels were found to be compliant, with no narcotics, prohibited substances, or psychotropic materials detected.
The campaign was declared fully successful, and police authorities emphasized that such surprise inspections will continue in the future to safeguard youth from drug abuse and prevent the misuse of courier services.
