Six people, including the driver and conductor, sustained injuries after a Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus travelling from Manali to Pathankot overturned near the Police Lines at Bashing in Kullu district early Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at around 6 am when the bus, bearing registration number HP-38-9738, reportedly went out of control near the Police Lines area and overturned. Six people were travelling in the bus at the time of the incident.
All six injured were immediately shifted to the Regional Hospital, Kullu, for medical treatment. Doctors said they had suffered minor injuries and were out of danger.
Those injured have been identified as Shyam Lal (45) of Baskola, Katrain; Krishna Thapa (42) of Bandrol; Chhaya Devi (25) and Rakesh Kumar (31) of Kuthed in Sihunta, Chamba; Manmohan Singh (42), the bus driver, of Bhut in Chuwari, Kangra; and Praveen Singh (46), the conductor, of Khanni in Nurpur, Kangra.
Police reached the spot soon after the accident and initiated an investigation. A case has been registered and further legal proceedings are underway.
Kullu Superintendent of Police Abhishek Shekhar confirmed the incident and said the circumstances leading to the accident were being investigated. Police are examining the cause of the bus losing control and other aspects of the incident.
