Dharamshala — The momentum of the Dhauladhar Cricket League continued to build at the Kangra cricket ground as Jal Shakti Vibhag (JSV-XI) clinched a decisive victory over Agriculture XI in the second semifinal of the tournament. Organized by the prominent media house The Newz Radar, the match furthered the league’s mission of utilizing local sports to drive a powerful campaign against the spread of Chitta in Himachal Pradesh.
The encounter saw a disciplined performance from the Jal Shakti department, who ultimately proved too strong for the Agriculture squad.
Opting to bat first, JSV-XI set the tone for the match with a steady performance at the crease. The team navigated the Agriculture XI bowling attack to put up a total of 124 runs in their first innings. While the score was a test of the batting side’s patience, it provided their bowlers with a defendable target on a pitch that demanded precision and focus.

The Agriculture XI bowlers managed to keep the run rate in check for much of the innings, but the Jal Shakti side’s resilience ensured they reached a competitive century-plus total.
The second innings proved to be a difficult outing for Agriculture XI as they struggled to find their rhythm against a clinical bowling department. The Jal Shakti Vibhag bowlers maintained a tight line and length, making it increasingly difficult for the batsmen to find the boundary.
Agriculture XI eventually finished their innings at a score of 85 for the loss of seven wickets, falling significantly short of the required target. The 38-run victory for JSV-XI highlighted their dominance on the field and secured their place in the championship match.

As the tournament moves toward its conclusion, the emphasis remains on the social message integrated into every match. By bringing together various government departments and community leaders, The Newz Radar continues to highlight the collective responsibility required to combat drug abuse. With Jal Shakti Vibhag now moving into the final, the stage is set for a grand conclusion to a league that has successfully combined the spirit of cricket with a vital cause for the welfare of the state’s youth.
