The National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh has achieved a historic milestone in its placement records for the academic session 2025-26.

Aryan Mittal, a dual-degree student from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, has secured an astounding offer of Rs 3.4 crore per annum from a top-tier US-based multinational company, setting a new all-time high for the institute.

Originally hailing from Shimla, Aryan comes from a humble background, with his family running a local stationery store. His remarkable achievement marks a turning point not just for his future but also for the institution’s legacy in global placements.

This year’s placement season has witnessed an overwhelming response from global tech giants. International companies like Tesla, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA, JPMorgan and Samsung have actively participated in the recruitment drive, reaffirming the credibility of NIT-Hamirpur’s academic excellence and its students’ capabilities.

NIT-Hamirpur Director Prof HM Suryawanshi expressed his pride over the achievement, saying, “This is a moment of great pride for us. More than 15 of our students have secured packages exceeding Rs 40 lakh and 50 others have received offers above Rs 30 lakh. It reflects the consistent growth and success of our institute.”

Highlighting the rising trend in gender diversity and female excellence, the director also lauded the performance of female students. Mansi Joshi from Pinjore, Haryana, a student in Computer Science, bagged a Rs 1 crore package while Yathika Grover and Vaishali Thakur earned Rs 68 lakh offers each.

Last year, the placement index stood at an impressive 94%, a figure the administration is confident of surpassing this year. The average salary package has also jumped significantly to Rs 15 lakh per annum, marking a clear leap from previous years.

Breaking its own previous record of Rs 2.05 crore, NIT-Hamirpur now stands proud with its highest-ever package of Rs 3.4 crore. This feat, according to Registrar Archana Nanoti, is the result of teamwork, relentless effort and strategic placement initiatives led by Somesh Sharma and his team.

“This success belongs to every staff member who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes. The placement cell’s dedication and coordination under Sharma’s leadership have truly paid off,” she noted.

The director also extended his congratulations to the faculty and placement team, crediting their collaborative efforts for putting NIT-Hamirpur on the global map once again. As the placement season continues, NIT-Hamirpur is cementing its reputation as one of India’s most promising engineering institutions, attracting attention from elite employers around the globe.
