In a significant step towards promoting hygiene awareness and digital education, the Rotary Club Choti Kashi Mandi on Thursday inaugurated and handed over two community service projects under the support of the Rotary Foundation, club funds and assistance from Rtn. Suman Sharma.
The first phase of the programme was organised at Government Senior Secondary School Trifalghat, where a newly installed hand wash station was formally dedicated to the school administration. Addressing students on the occasion, club president Dr. Hemlata highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, proper handwashing techniques and health awareness among schoolchildren, particularly adolescent girls.
Club members also conducted an interactive awareness session focusing on scientific methods of handwashing and the role of hygiene in preventing diseases. The initiative was appreciated by teachers and students alike.
Later, members of the club visited Bal Ashram Bhanwar, where another hand wash station along with an e-learning station was handed over to the institution. The project aims to improve access to hygiene facilities and modern educational resources for children residing at the ashram.
During the visit, Rotary members spent time interacting with the children and learning about their educational and extracurricular activities. Club members described the experience as emotionally enriching and praised the caring environment being provided to the children at the ashram.
The children were found to be actively engaged not only in academics but also in sports and co-curricular activities. Encouraged by their enthusiasm and talent, the club also proposed the establishment of an Interact Club at the ashram to nurture leadership qualities, social responsibility and personality development among the students.
Rtn. Akhil Gupta has been nominated as advisor for the proposed Interact Club initiative.
Club Secretary Renu Gulati, President Akhilesh Bharti, Rotarian Suman Sharma , Rtn Yash Pal Singh and Rtn. Akhilesh Gupta were present during the events and actively participated in the service activities.
Members of the Rotary Club said such projects play a vital role in extending meaningful support to underprivileged sections of society. The club reaffirmed its commitment to continue undertaking community welfare initiatives across the region in the future.
