In a major breakthrough with significant implications for security in Himachal Pradesh, the Punjab Police have busted an ISI-backed narco-terror module allegedly operated by Harwinder Rinda, a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) operative responsible for the Nalagarh Police Station blast in Himachal Pradesh.
Two accused have been apprehended during the intelligence-based operation, and one improvised explosive device (IED) has been recovered. The crackdown was carried out in close coordination with the Himachal Pradesh Police and central intelligence agencies.
Harwinder Rinda is a known BKI operative and is suspected to be a key handler behind multiple terror-related activities aimed at destabilising the region. Officials said the module had links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was involved in a narco-terror network that used drug trafficking to fund terrorist operations.
Police sources highlighted that the successful bust reflects strong inter-state coordination between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, along with central agencies, in countering terror threats. Further investigations are underway to trace additional operatives, funding channels, and logistical support linked to the module.
Reiterating its commitment to public safety, the Punjab Police said it remains determined to dismantle terror networks and ensure lasting peace and security across the region.
