The Nurpur Police has achieved a major breakthrough in its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking. Acting under the Anukampa Niyukti Policy, the Police District’s PO Cell arrested a woman declared as a Proclaimed Offender in two NDPS Act cases.
On 18 July 2026, the accused, Rajesh Kumari, wife of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Tamota village, Indora tehsil, Kangra district, aged around 50 years, was apprehended from Tibba, Ludhiana (Punjab).
She was wanted in the following cases:
- FIR No. 123/2019, Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Indora
- FIR No. 38/2020, Section 21 NDPS Act, Police Station Indora
Following her arrest, the accused underwent a medical examination at Civil Hospital Indora, and her family was informed. She was then handed over to the Investigating Officer (I/O) of Police Station Indora for further legal proceedings.
The accused will be presented before the Hon’ble Court tomorrow. Police officials confirmed that the drive against proclaimed offenders will continue relentlessly, ensuring that no one evading the law will be spared.
