Palampur MLA Ashish Butail inaugurates Mahila Mandal building at Padra village

Ashish Butail, Congress MLA from Palampur in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, formally inaugurated the newly constructed Jagriti Mahila Mandal building at Padra village of Hangloh panchayat on Monday (July 14, 2025). The building was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹5 lakh.


On the occasion, the MLA congratulated the local residents and stated that the Mahila Mandal building will play a significant role in empowering women in social, culturaland creative activities. He emphasized that the holistic development of the Palampur constituency is his topmost priority and assured that he is working with full dedication towards that goal.

He assured that the genuine demands raised by the panchayat would be fulfilled in a phased manner. Additionally, he announced a grant of ₹20,000 to the Mahila Mandal for purchasing necessary items.


Highlighting the importance of road infrastructure for the development of any area, he informed that a road project from Gajreda to Daadh village has been estimated at ₹3.75 crore, while another road from Upper Bagauda to Gugga Temple will cost around ₹4 crore. The estimates have been prepared and sent for approval.


During the visit, the MLA also listened to public grievances, resolved most of them on the spot and directed the concerned departments to address the remaining issues promptly.


Present on the occasion were Trilok Chand (Board Member, Wool Federation), Executive Engineer PWD Vineet Sharma, Assistant Engineer Abhay Kohli, Assistant Engineer of Jal Shakti Department Prakash Chand, Mahila Mandal president Sarla Devi, Secretary Laxmi Devi, Voni Kumar, Rajendra Kumar, Ravindra Kumar, Naresh and Ravi.
