On Himachal HC’s order, Mandi ADC’s team treks 15 km to reach remote villages to hear grievances

MANDI: Complying with the directions of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the Mandi district administration, under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Rohit Rathore, undertook a significant outreach initiative to address the issues of residents in remote villages of Sartyola panchayat in Karsog sub-division.

15-km trek to reach the villages

The district-level committee embarked on a challenging four-hour trek covering nearly 15 km through mountainous terrain to reach Manju and Magan villages via Zaklin. The visit aimed to review basic amenities and resolve long-standing grievances of the villagers.
During the visit, residents raised pressing concerns related to electricity, water supply, road connectivity and education. The specific demands included immediate resolution of low-voltage electricity issues, inclusion of Manju village in road network, restoration of school bus services for children during morning and evening hours and ensuring consistent water supply for the region.
ADC Rohit Rathore assured the residents that their issues would be promptly addressed. He also inspected the Government Primary School in Manju to evaluate its infrastructure and operational needs. Later, the committee moved to Parlog gram panchayat, where they interacted with more residents and reviewed additional concerns.

Collaborative administrative approach

The district administration’s efforts were marked by the participation of senior officials from multiple departments, ensuring a coordinated approach to solving problems. The key officials present included Gaurav Mahajan, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Karsog; Varun Gulati, Tehsildar, Karsog; Anchit Dogra, District Panchayat Officer, Mandi; Ram Chandra, Deputy Director, Agriculture Department, Mandi; Anil Sharma, Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Mandi Circle; Vijay Gupta & Sushil Kumar Sharma, Deputy Directors of Elementary and Higher Education, Mandi; and representatives from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, AYUSH, Animal Husbandry and other departments.
Local representatives including Sartyola gram panchayat pradhan Tilak Chauhan and Parlog pradhan Gayatri Devi.
