Nurpur Police continues its special campaign to apprehend proclaimed offenders (POs) who have been evading court proceedings for a long time. As part of this drive, the PO Cell of Nurpur Police District has successfully arrested two absconders in separate cases related to Nurpur Police Station.
Case Details:
- First Case (Section 138 NI Act): On September 22, 2026, the PO Cell team swiftly arrested Prem Chand in a cheque bounce case under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by the Hon’ble JMFC Court, Nurpur, on February 5, 2020.
- Second Case (FIR No. 37/23 IPC): On September 23, 2026, acting on a tip-off, the PO Cell team arrested Rashpal Singh from the Talara area in connection with a case of assault and unlawful trespass. He had been declared a proclaimed offender by the Hon’ble ACJM Court, Nurpur, on June 8, 2026, in FIR No. 37/23 registered under Sections 452, 323, 324, and 504 IPC at Nurpur Police Station.
Arrested Offenders:
- Prem Chand (44 years), son of Chunni Lal, resident of Talyaad, Tehsil & District Mandi (HP).
- Rashpal Singh (49 years), son of Late Shri Attar Singh, resident of Sohar, Post Office Dahab, Tehsil Fatehpur, District Kangra (HP).
Legal Proceedings:
- Prem Chand was produced before the Hon’ble JMFC Court, Nurpur, for further judicial process.
- Rashpal Singh underwent medical examination at Civil Hospital, Nurpur, and was handed over to the MHC of Nurpur Police Station for subsequent legal proceedings.
Nurpur Police remains vigilant and committed to maintaining law and order by ensuring that offenders evading judicial processes are brought to justice. The campaign against such absconders will continue with full force.
