Nurpur Police have achieved a major breakthrough by solving a theft case registered at Police Station Nurpur under FIR No. 119/2026 dated May 7, 2026, under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
The complaint was lodged by Mrs. Anupam Guleria, wife of Shri Bhaskar Singh, resident of VPO Khushinagar, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra (H.P.). She reported that on May 5, 2026, an unknown person broke the grill and mesh of her house window, entered the premises, and stole gold and silver ornaments along with cash.
Taking the matter seriously, Nurpur Police immediately launched an investigation. CCTV footage from the area was thoroughly examined, leading to the identification of a suspect. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused on May 14, 2026.
Accused Details:
- Pawan Kumar, son of Vinod Baba, resident near Shiv Mandir Cremation Ground, Jugiyal Shahpurkandi, Pathankot.
Police confirmed that Pawan Kumar is a habitual offender with multiple theft cases registered against him in Police Station Rehan (Nurpur district) as well as in Punjab. Further investigation in the case is underway.
Nurpur Police have urged citizens to immediately report any suspicious activities. The district police remain committed to taking strict action against crime and criminals.
