On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, the Ex-Servicemen League unit of Kakira organized a tree plantation drive at Swami Hari Giri Ashram, Kakira. Each member of the League planted a fruit-bearing sapling dedicated to “Mother.”
The initiative was led by League President Captain Puran Singh Thapa, under whose guidance all ex-servicemen pledged to plant at least one tree every year in the name of “Mother,” as well as on children’s birthdays. They emphasized that the mission is not only to plant trees but also to nurture them until they grow into flourishing greenery.
On this occasion, the Kakira unit also took a solemn oath to honor the national flag. The ex-servicemen vowed to safeguard the dignity of the tricolor, declaring their readiness to sacrifice their lives for the pride and honor of the nation.
Around 50 ex-servicemen from the Bakkloh region and nearby areas actively participated in the event, making it a spirited celebration of environmental protection and patriotism.
