Nurpur Police Seize 70 Grams of Heroin, Three Arrested

In a major breakthrough against narcotics, the CIA team of Police District Nurpur achieved significant success during routine patrolling and crime prevention efforts.

Acting on a tip-off at the Bhadroya toll barrier, police received information that three individuals were present near Durga Mata Temple, Damtal, with heroin in their possession. The team swiftly conducted a raid and found the suspects with a black Splendor motorcycle (registration number PB-07-BX-5055).

On searching the vehicle, police recovered 70 grams of heroin (chitta) concealed inside the motorcycle’s meter panel.

The arrested accused have been identified as:

  • Manab Kumar, son of Bharpur Singh, resident of Bhadwal, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)
  • Harjot Singh, son of Sucha Singh, resident of Hardo Khanpur, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)
  • Shamshoon, son of Tarsem Singh, resident of Laabh Nagar, District Hoshiarpur (Punjab)

The contraband was seized on the spot, samples sealed, and necessary legal procedures completed. A case has been registered at Police Station Damtal under Sections 21, 25, 29, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act. All three accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.

Nurpur Police reaffirm their commitment to the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign and assure strict action against such elements in the future.
