Police District Nurpur has finalized comprehensive security measures to ensure free, fair, and peaceful conduct of the upcoming Panchayati Raj Institution elections across all four development blocks—Indora, Fatehpur, Nagrota Surian, and Nurpur.
A detailed action plan has been prepared to maintain law and order during the polling process. Nearly 800 personnel, including about 500 police officers and 300 home guards, have been deployed. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) have been placed on high alert to respond swiftly to any emergency. The overall security responsibility has been entrusted to the Additional Superintendent of Police, along with three Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs).

As per the State Election Commission’s notification, polling will be held from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Counting of votes for the posts of Pradhan, Up-Pradhan, and Ward Members will take place immediately after polling at the respective Panchayat level. Counting for Block Development Committee (BDC) and Zila Parishad members is scheduled for May 31, with strong rooms and counting centers established in all four blocks.
To facilitate smooth operations, all officers and staff on election duty have been issued a special guide booklet, ‘Digdarshika’, along with important contact numbers.
