As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, Nurpur Police achieved a major success on January 2, 2026. During a checkpoint at Kandwal, officers intercepted a Bolero jeep (HP39C-7284) and recovered 10.30 grams of heroin/chitta.
The accused have been identified as:
- Prabhat Singh alias Gaurav, son of Sardar Singh Rana, resident of village & PO Rehlu, Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra (HP).
- Avinash Patial alias Abbu, son of Savindra Singh, resident of village Chatrehad, PO & Tehsil Shahpur, District Kangra (HP).
A case has been registered against them under Sections 21, 25, 29-61-85 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Nurpur. Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
