In a special drive against illegal mining, Police District Nurpur carried out intensive checks across various areas in the past 24 hours. Teams conducted raids in Indora, Re, and Nurpur khads and adjoining routes, taking strict action against machinery and vehicles involved in unlawful activities.
Details of Action:
- Indora Police Station: In the Indora khad area near Arni University, three tractors were challaned. Additionally, one tipper from Tanda Mor and one Poklen (L&T) machine from Beas khad were seized and sent to court for further proceedings.
- Nurpur Police Station: One tractor was challaned under the Mining Act in Nurpur bazaar area.
- Re Police Post: During raids in Mand Raitpur area, one tractor was challaned under the Mining Act.
MV Act Enforcement: Alongside mining violations, police also booked vehicles under the Motor Vehicles Act. Tractors found plying on roads without number plates were challaned to ensure compliance with traffic safety norms.
Police District Nurpur has reiterated its commitment to curb illegal mining, overloading, and unauthorized transportation of materials. The campaign will continue with sustained vigilance in the coming days.
