Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Civil) and Election Officer Vikas Sharma administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected Panchayat Samiti members of Bharmaur block on Saturday.
During the ceremony, all members pledged allegiance to the Constitution and resolved to discharge their duties with honesty, impartiality, transparency, and a spirit of public service.
Addressing the gathering, SDM Vikas Sharma extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the members. He emphasized that Panchayat Samitis play a vital role in rural development, effective implementation of welfare schemes, and addressing local issues. He urged representatives to work with foresight, dedication, and active participation to accelerate holistic and sustainable development in the region.
He further called upon members to ensure transparent and judicious use of government funds and resources so that maximum eligible beneficiaries can avail themselves of welfare schemes. Special focus, he said, should be given to the upliftment of the needy, marginalized, and weaker sections of society.
Highlighting education as a top priority, Sharma appealed to representatives to strengthen schools, improve the learning environment, and contribute to the all-round development of children. He stressed the importance of accountability, coordination, and public interest in implementing development plans effectively.
Expressing confidence, he said the newly elected members would live up to public expectations and transform the Panchayat Samiti into a strong medium of development, good governance, and welfare.
