Under the chairmanship of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Executive Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Shimla, and District & Sessions Judge Chirag Bhanu Singh, District Legal Services Authority, Kangra at Dharamshala, a National Lok Adalat was organized across all courts of Kangra district.
The Lok Adalat took up a wide range of cases including pre-litigation matters, NI Act cases, recovery suits, labor disputes, utility bill issues (electricity and water), Section 125 CrPC cases, compoundable criminal cases, motor accident claims, matrimonial disputes, land acquisition matters, revenue cases, and other civil disputes—both pending and pre-litigation.
Out of 10,232 cases listed, settlements were reached in 5,429 cases, resulting in the recovery of ₹5,07,58,589.
The initiative highlighted the effectiveness of Lok Adalats in providing speedy, amicable, and cost-effective justice, while reducing the burden on regular courts.
