A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal regarding the successful organization of the Dalhousie Winter Festival 2025. The festival will be held from December 25 to 31. The Deputy Commissioner said that this festival is extremely important for promoting winter tourism in Dalhousie and that all preparations must be completed on time.

He directed the SDM of Dalhousie to ensure all necessary arrangements at Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk for the event. He further informed that a heritage walk will be organized every morning during the festival in collaboration with the Hotel Association so that tourists and locals can experience Dalhousie’s ancient heritage and cultural significance.

From December 25 to 30, cultural programs will be held every evening for 2 to 3 hours. On the final evening, December 31, cultural performances will continue until midnight to welcome the New Year in a festive atmosphere.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the SDM to include additional attractive activities in the festival to make it more lively and engaging for tourists. He said that stalls set up by various departments should remain operational throughout the week and that Self-Help Group stalls should be arranged in a well-organized manner at different locations.

Proper accommodation arrangements must be ensured for artists, officials, staff members, and participants coming from outside the region.

He added that the district’s rich cultural heritage will be highlighted during the festival, with special emphasis on traditional performances such as Kunjdi Malhar, Musada singing, and local folk artists, helping showcase Chamba’s heritage to a wider audience.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed that fire-related stunts must not be performed during the festival, while environment-friendly activities should be promoted.

In the meeting, the SDM Dalhousie and District Tourism Development Officer briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the preparations made so far. District Tourism Development Officer Rajeev Mishra, Economist Project Officer Vinod Kumar, and SDM Dalhousie Anil Kumar Bhardwaj also joined the meeting virtually.
