Shahpur: The mortal remains of martyr Pawan Jaryal, the valiant soldier from Ward Number 4 in Shahpur who laid down his life in the line of duty during the ongoing post-Operation Sindoor conflict, are now expected to arrive at his native village on May 11.
Due to the prevailing operational situation at the border, the movement of his body from Jammu has been rescheduled to 11:00 am on May 11, 2025.
Officials from the district administration have confirmed that the exact timing of the funeral will be finalized and announced tomorrow, once the body is en route. The cremation will take place with full military honors in Shahpur, where preparations are underway to give the martyr a dignified farewell.
Pawan Jaryal, who was originally posted in Ambala, had requested to be transferred to a border location—a wish that was granted shortly before he made the supreme sacrifice while fighting Pakistani forces. His courage and dedication have inspired an outpouring of grief and pride across Himachal Pradesh.
Local MLA Kewal Singh Pathania, who has remained in touch with both the family and Army officials, confirmed the revised schedule and extended his condolences, stating, “Pawan’s valor and sense of duty will never be forgotten. We stand with his family and salute his sacrifice.”
Security forces, senior Army officials, and members of the public are expected to join in large numbers to pay their last respects. The entire region of Shahpur is preparing to receive its brave son with the honor and gratitude he so rightly deserves.
