Manjit Kumar from Himachal’s Chamba selected for Asian Winter Games, is employed in Army

Manjit Kumar, an athlete from the tribal Bharmour-Pangi belt of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh, has been selected to compete in the prestigious Asian Winter Games 2025, set to take place in Harbin in China
Manjit, the son of Tilak Raj from Lahal village under Khani panchayat in Bharmour tehsil, is currently serving as a soldier in the Army. He showed remarkable talent in cross-country skiing, securing one gold and two silver medals in the Khelo India 2024 competition.
His impressive performance follows his success at the Junior National 2022 event in Gulmarg, where he won one gold and one silver medal.
The announcement on Manjit’s selection was made by Bharmaur-Pangi MLA Dr Janak Raj on his social media account.
With his selection for the Asian Winter Games, Manjit will now represent India on an international stage. He is also set to participate in additional competitions in February.
Dr Janak Raj extended his heartfelt congratulations to Manjit and wished him success in his upcoming endeavours, expressing pride in his achievements and hoping for more laurels for the nation.
