The residents of Hataun panchayat, situated under the Drang Assembly constituency of Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district, have been granted access to the Mata Baglamukhi ropeway at concessional rates.
The decision follows a direct appeal to Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who responded promptly to the community’s concerns.
On January 11, 2025, a delegation from Hataun panchayat, led by pradhan Roshni Devi, met Deputy CM Agnihotri near Kainchi Mod. The residents highlighted their frequent travel to Bakhli for temple visits and familial engagements.
They pointed out that until now, only residents of Bakhli panchayat benefited from reduced ropeway fare, creating a disparity for Hataun villagers who also relied on this mode of transport.

Deputy CM’s swift response

Recognising the validity of their concerns, Deputy CM Agnihotri took immediate action. By January 13, 2025, the Ropeway and Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) issued a notification extending concessional rates to Hataun residents.
The revised fares are now Rs 30 for a one-way trip and Rs 50 for a round trip for adults, with children charged Rs 15 and Rs 25, respectively. Previously, fares were significantly higher at Rs 150 for a one-way trip and Rs 200 for a round trip.

Villagers express gratitude to govt

Pradhan Roshni Devi expressed deep gratitude to Deputy CM Agnihotri and the state government for their prompt action.
She remarked, “The Deputy CM’s immediate fulfillment of our request demonstrates the government’s commitment to addressing public concerns efficiently.” Residents of Hataun echoed this sentiment, viewing the concessional rates as a boon that will enhance their connectivity and ease of travel.
