Mandi: With drug addiction tightening its grip on society, particularly on the youth, the Mandi Literacy and Public Development Committee has taken a decisive step to combat the crisis in Himachal Pradesh.
The committee has launched a large-scale “Save Youth – Save Future” awareness campaign to break the web of drug abuse and educate communities about its devastating effects.
Mandi Literacy and Public Development Committee president Hemant Raj Vaidya, addressing a crucial executive meeting, expressed grave concern over the alarming rise in substance abuse.
“Our society is being consumed by drugs and the younger generation is the worst affected. This is not just a problem; it is a crisis that demands urgent intervention,” he said.

95 awareness camps, 10,374 participants engaged
To tackle this issue head-on, the committee has already organised 95 awareness camps across the district, where 10,374 people, including students, teachers, self-help group members, women’s organisations, and Panchayati Raj representatives, participated actively.
These sessions educate young minds about the severe consequences of drug addiction, aiming to create a ripple effect of awareness and responsibility within families and communities.
